This is a tryptic of a deconstructed snow scene in McCall Idaho. These images represent my exploration of abstraction by separating the image at the horizon line and pulling out specific tonal information, producing separate images that can be perceived as one landscape or just an abstraction for whatever the mind creates. This is one example within a larger body of work that explores abstraction and perception and how these ideas and uses of these ideas can be implemented in the development of perception in children. By subtly challenging the brain to combine something that is broken apart or just simply ask the question why.
